Rwanda is currently witnessing a surge in decentralized energy projects, where the integration of a solar panel in balcony setups is becoming common in urban Kigali to maximize limited space. However, the tropical climate and high humidity necessitate materials that resist corrosion, making traditional galvanized steel insufficient for long-term deployment.
For larger utility-scale projects, the demand for a robust fence around solar array has increased significantly. The primary challenge in Rwanda's terrain is balancing the need for physical security against the risk of wind-loading and the intrusion of local fauna, which can damage sensitive photovoltaic modules.
Consequently, there is a shifting preference toward stainless screening. Local engineers are now seeking high-tensile, deep-processed metal products that offer superior longevity and minimal maintenance, reducing the total cost of ownership for renewable energy assets across the country.
